Attaching a Load to a Winch
There are three common types of winch attachments. The shackle/clevis can be
used to safely attach loops on chains, straps, cables, and winch hooks. The load
strap and sling can be used to attach the winch to a lot of different types of
objects. The load strap and sling is typically constructed with sturdy nylon.
The snatch block and pulley system can be used when you need extra pulling
power. It is said to be able to double pulling power. As a result, less amps are
required to pull a given object and less heat is produced. It also provides the
winch with the ability to change pulling direction without causing damage to the
